Umbreon Pokémon Card Value
Umbreon is a Pokémon that evolves from Eevee that was first introduced in Generation 2 as a Dark-type Pokémon. Because this Pokémon is most active during the moonlight, Umbreon cards commonly show nighttime scenes.
Pokémon cards are pretty valuable depending on the Pokémon, its rarity and the demand for that card. This Pokémon is rare in the wild, are its cards just as rare?
Here are the top ten Umbreon Pokémon Card Values.
Umbreon Card Value
Umbreon is tied with Mega Gyarados and Hoopa Unbound for the highest base Special Defense of all Dark- Type Pokémon. This Pokémon is very rare in the wild, and is often found in urban areas under the care of people. Umbreon is commonly called the Moonlight Pokémon, due to its rings on its fur glowing when the moonlight shines on them.
Umbreon’s first main appearance was in Power Play! where it was revealed that Gary’s Eevee had evolved into one. This Pokémon has been voted as one of the favorite Pokémon of the Eeveelutions.
Umbreon Category And Element
Umbreon is a Dark-type Pokémon that was first introduced in Generation II. Umbreon evolves from Eevee when leveled up with high friendship during the night, or when leveled up with high friendship and a Moon Shard in the Bag. Because Umbreon is a Dark-type Pokémon it is strong against Ghost, Dark and Psychic-type Pokémon. Umbreon is most vulnerable to Fighting, Bug and Fairy-type Pokémon.
The two best moves for Umbreon are Snarl and Foul Play. Umbreon is a mammalian Pokémon that resembles a black cat, a black rabbit, or a canine. It has mainly sleek black fur with luminescent yellow rings encircling its ears and tail, and yellow circles on its forehead and each of its legs.
2005 P.M. Japanese Play Umbreon-Holo/ G.S. Promo- 70,000 PTS
This Umbreon card was the first released card of this version, available in the PLAY Promotional cards. In Japan, it was made available by the Daisuki Pokémon Fan Club from 2005 to 2006. To obtain this card, members needed to accumulate 70,000 points through various meets and activities. Because this promo had a very short time frame to achieve this number of points in, this Japanese promo card was extremely difficult to obtain.
Not only did players have to physically go to events, they also had to win a lot of matches to obtain this card. Because of its low population, not many of these Umbreon cards have gone up for sale. Although, that changed in June of 2021 when the Gold Star Umbreon sold for $70,000 at auction.
PSA Population Report:
A low amount of 24 of these Umbreon 70,000-point cards have been graded by the PSA. The lowest grade given was an EX 5. There has been a total of only 17 of these cards graded a perfect Gem Mint 10 condition. Because these cards were only for a promo and have a low population, this card is very valuable and extremely sought after.
Average Selling Price: $70,000
2007 Pokémon Umbreon- Gold Star Pop Series 5
This Umbreon card was included in the POP Series 5 set, released through Pokémon Organized Play events from March- September of 2007. This set features the English versions of the last two Eeveelutions, Espeon and Umbreon (previously only available as Japanese PLAY Promotional cards).
This Umbreon card features a Darkness-type Basic Pokémon card, with artwork by Masakazu Fukuda. Your chances of pulling a Umbreon from this POP Series 5 pack are extremely slim, at 1/40. These POP Series packs also were not sold in stores, so there were fewer packs opened, making a higher rarity for the cards in them, they were also released at the lowest point in the franchise and were very hard to get. This all combined together arguably makes this card a very expensive and collectable Umbreon card.
PSA Population Report:
Only 343 of these Umbreon Gold Star cards have been graded by the PSA. The lowest grade given was a PR1. The most common grade, with 121 cards, is a Mint 9 condition. There are only 50 of these cards that have been graded a perfect Gem Mint 10 condition. Because of these cards low population value, this card is worth a lot.

To achieve the 7,200 AP, players had to complete special tasks, it is unknown how many players were able to gain the 7,200 points needed to obtain this card. Because there are only 31 of these cards PSA graded, this makes it one of the rarest promotional cards ever made. This card is very hard to find on the market, this card has great eye appeal and is very collectable.
PSA Population Report:
A low amount of only 31 of these Daisuki Club 7,200 PTS Umbreon cards have been graded. The lowest grade given was a NM 7. There have been 23 cards graded a perfect Gem Mint 10 condition by the PSA.
