Alakazam is able to use all forms of psychic abilities, the use of its psychic powers can cause headaches to those around. Alakazam uses its powers to move its body and hold up its head. because Alakazam’s brain is constantly growing, it becomes way larger as the Pokémon ages. This Pokemon is known to have an excellent memory and an IQ that exceeds 5,000.

Alakazam is based on a magician and also a spoon bender. It shares similarities to goats and foxes. Alakazam is the only Generation VI Pokémon whose base stat total does not increase by exactly 100 points.

Category and Element of Alakazam

The name Alakazam is an incantation used in stage magic. Alakazam is a Psychic-type Pokémon that was first introduced in Generation I. It evolves from Kadabra when traded, or when exposed to a Linking Cord.

Alakazam can Mega Evolve into Mega Alakazam by using the Alakazite. It is a humanoid Pokémon with a large mustache. It also has a large snout, narrow eyes, and yellow body. There are three toes on each foot, two of which face forward while the other face backwards. It wields a silver spoon in each hand which acts as amplifiers for its psychic abilities.

Alakazam’s weaknesses are Ghost, Dark, and Bug-type Pokémon.

This card features a Psychic- type Stage 2 Alakazam in the Japanese Expansion Pack. It was released in Japan on October 20, 1996 as the first expansion for the TCG, four years earlier than the English Base Set Version. This card, much like the English Base Set card, shows a Holofoil Alakazam. The artwork shows Alakazam looking straight ahead with a very stern look. The background is a dark hypno swirl with Holofoil speck through it.

Unlike the English version, this 1996 Japanese Alakazam does not feature a rarity symbol. The no rarity Pokémon cards are extremely rare, the very first printing of these Japanese cards did not have rarity symbols, it was only speculated they were printed for two weeks before they added the rarity symbols. Due to the age and limited print run, this card is extremely rare and valuable.

This card was one of five Holofoil Unnumbered Promotional cards that were available as part of the Communication Evolution Campaign. The campaign launched with the release of the third Expansion Sheet on November 24, 1998 and ran until April 30, 1999. To get this card you had to mail a copy of any Kadabra card along with a copy of Bill’s PC to Media Factory, participants were sent a copy of Alakazam in return. There were around 39,000 applications for Alakazam during the campaign, making it the most popular card out of the five cards that were available. Because this was a limited 5-month campaign to only Japan, this card is very rare.
